A 12-day journey designed for couples — lush landscapes, serene beaches, scenic train rides through tea country, a candlelit dinner on Weligama beach, and quiet shared moments at sunset. From Negombo and Sigiriya to Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Yala and the southern coast, this is Sri Lanka for two.

Itinerary

  1. 1

    Day 1

    Airport → Negombo

    Welcome at the airport and a short transfer to Negombo (~25 min) — known for its long sandy beaches and centuries-old fishing industry. Dinner and overnight by the sea.

    Day 2

    Negombo → Sigiriya

    Drive to Sigiriya (~3 hrs). Visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress (UNESCO), Habarana Tropical Village tour with cooking demonstration and bullock-cart ride, half-day jeep safari in Minneriya, Kaudulla or Hurulu Eco Park.

    Day 3

    Sigiriya — Relax & Hot-Air Balloon (optional)

    Relaxed day at the hotel. Optional: 1-hour hot-air balloon flight over Kandalama/Dambulla with chances of seeing wild elephants below (season Oct–Apr).

    Day 4

    Sigiriya → Kandy

    Drive to Kandy (~2 hrs) with stops at Dambulla Cave Temple (UNESCO), Aluvihare Rock Temple and the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa).

    Day 5

    Kandy — City & Cultural Show

    Traditional wood-carving centre and gem museum, city viewpoint and local market. Evening cultural show with traditional Sri Lankan dance and music.

    Day 6

    Kandy → Nuwara Eliya

    Drive into the tea country (~2½ hrs): Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya, Ramboda Falls, tea plantation and factory visit. Evening at Gregory Lake and Victoria Park.

    Day 7

    Nuwara Eliya — Horton Plains & Farms

    Nature trail in Horton Plains, visit to Ambewela Dairy Farm and a strawberry farm. Evening pony / horse ride in the Race Course area. Optional: scenic train Nuwara Eliya–Ella.

    Day 8

    Nuwara Eliya → Ella → Yala

    Drive to Yala via Ella (~4 hrs): Ravana Falls, Nine Arches Bridge, Ella Gap, Little Adam's Peak, Flying Ravana mega zip-line in the Adventure Park. Evening jeep safari in Yala.

    Day 9

    Yala → Weligama

    Drive to the south coast at Weligama (~3½ hrs). Check-in at the Weligama Beach Resort. Romantic candlelit dinner on the beach.

    Day 10

    Weligama — Galle & Whales

    Leisure at the hotel. Optional: stilt fishermen, Galle Dutch Fort (UNESCO World Heritage), 5-hour whale and dolphin watching tour from Mirissa Harbour.

    Day 11

    Weligama — Beaches & Viewpoints

    Day of leisure with optional outings: Mirissa Jungle Beach, Coconut Tree Hill, Parrot Rock, Weligama Bay.

    Day 12

    Weligama → Airport (Departure)

    After breakfast, transfer (~3½ hrs) to Bandaranaike International Airport for your departure flight.
